"The People vs The Politicians" with Filmmaker and Prize-Winning Journalist, Hedrick Smith

3515 S Alaska Street

The Meaningful Moves Project and Fix Democracy First present a special screening of the new film, "The People vs The Politicians," by award-winning journalist and documentarian, Hedrick Smith, on December 6. Mr. Smith will introduce the film and participate in a Q&A. The film features grassroots reformers who are putting solutions to work at the state level, including a segment on Washington's Initiative 735 grassroots campaign led by WAmend, that made Washington the 18th state to call for a U.S. Constitutional amendment to overturn decisions like Citizens United. This is not a story of left vs right, Republicans vs Democrats. It's a story of We the People rising up against entrenched power... and winning! A donation of $6-$12 is suggested to attend the film event which starts at 7:00. A pre-event reception with Mr. Smith starts at 6:00pm. The reception cost of $35 includes a signed copy of Mr. Smith's latest book, "Who Stole the American Dream?," hors doeuvres, drinks, and admission to the main event.
