For those unfamiliar, it will be an introduction to a new way of being and a new way of relating to the Earth. The book will be for sale and Jessi & Dave will be available to sign. Her efforts are inspired by a belief that art is a human right and that artists can create a foundation for profound social change. A visually stunning and deeply emotional film, THE BAREFOOT ARTIST chronicles Lily Yeh’s remarkable journey as an artist, from her first exposure to Chinese landscape painting as a young girl in China to the hauntingly beautiful memorial she designed to honor the victims of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda where she taught survivors of violent conflict to create murals and build sculptures drawn from their own experience. The film illustrates her methodology for community building, using art as a foundation, which has evolved over decades while she has worked in impoverished and traumatized communities, kindling hope and a sense of purpose worldwide.
