This Policy Ride has two routes, both starting and ending at the same locations. On the “all ages and abilities” ride, learn about a neighborhood greenway on Hiawatha Place S to be built this year, and a neighborhood greenway from Franklin High School to the Othello Playground (we won’t go that far). On the “strong and fearless” ride, learn about future protected bike lanes on S Dearborn Street and Rainier Avenue S. Both rides will also address the City’s efforts to increase bicycle and pedestrian access to the future Rainier Light Rail Station and current Mount Baker Light Rail Station and to allow more housing, jobs, and retail near the Mount Baker Station. The Policy Ride will end at a Bike Happy Hour at Spinnaker Bay Brewing in Hillman City. Co-led by the Cascade Bicycle Club, Bike Works, Rainier Valley Greenways, and Rainier Riders. Thursday, May 15, 4:30 p.m. Start: Occidental Park Finish: Spinnaker Bay Brewing (5718 Rainier Ave S, Seattle WA 98118) “Strong & Fearless Ride”: 4.8 miles, on arterial streets “All Ages & Abilities Ride”: 6.4 miles, longer & hillier Register: http://org2.salsalabs.com/o/5719/p/salsa/event/common/public/?event_KEY=70844
