Unregulated emotions can add stress to all aspects of family life. Psychologist Alan Fruzzetti says these dysregulated emotions -- including anger, hurt feelings, sadness, and worry -- transfer to spouses, children, and other family members. According to Fruzzetti, effective communication alone won't solve the ups and downs of these families. In this presentation, he'll offer skills parents and partners can use to turn these emotional interactions around. By addressing underlying emotions and "triggers," mutual understanding -- and healthy relationships -- are possible. Fruzzetti is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Nevada; he learned Dialectical Behavior Therapy while working Dr. Marsha Linehan in Seattle. Presented by: The Linehan Institute. Tickets: $35 general admission; $65 for general admission and continuing education credit. Doors open: 6:00 pm Learn more: About registering and Fruzzetti.
