Galicia's greatest traditional piper Carlos Nuez comes to Seattle in a performance celebrating the music and cultural heritage of Spain's Camino de Santiago (The Way of Saint James). In the Christian tradition, this route was one of the most important pilgrimages to make during medieval times -- and remains a favorite today. Reflecting on this, Nuez and his quartet offer a musical journey of the songs which were likely heard during the original Santiago pilgrimages. Called "a pop star playing traditional music on bagpipes and recorder" by Los Angeles Times, Nuez strives to preserve the Celtic music tradition through his expert playing of the gaita (the bagpipes of Spain's coastal region Galicia). Presented by: Early Music Guild. Tickets: $30 general reserved seating; $25 for Town Hall Members; $20 for seniors 65 and older; $10 for students. Town Hall Member Benefits: Discounted tickets. Doors open: 6:30 p.m. Learn more: About EMG; about the artist. READ MORE: http://www.townhallseattle.org/early-music-guild-presents-carlos-nunez-a-celtic-musical-pilgrimage-to-santiago/
