Mayor Murray will be in Lake City on Monday August 25th to do a “Find It, Fix It Community Walk.” He has been doing a number of these walks on the south end this summer and is now expanding to other parts of the city. Here is a brief summary on what the walks are all about: At the walks, community residents, police, and city officials walk together to identify physical disorder and solve it (i.e. graffiti removal, street lighting, litter and garbage clean-up, and trimming overgrown bushes and trees). As a result of these walks, Seattle City Light, the Seattle Department of Transportation, the Department of Planning and Development, and Seattle Public Utilities have worked – and continue to work – to make improvements in Seattle’s neighborhoods. Watch videos, view photos and read actions taken as a result of these walks at: The Lake City walk will begin at 6:30p.m. at the corner of NE 125 St & 30th Ave NE in the Lake City Mini Park. I urge you to attend and invite members of your organization, friends, and neighbors. It’s a great opportunity for the neighborhood! A press release will be coming out in a few days, which you can share with others. Hope to see you Monday, Christa Dumpys, MSW Neighborhood District Coordinator North Region City of Seattle – Department of Neighborhoods 206-684-4812 (desk) 206-786-2931 (mobile)
